overview | interface | process
The interface does not just enable spyfishing, it helps to build
the spyfishing experience. The slender cable allows great control
and manoeuvrability. Live video, along with instrument readings,
are sent to the surface through the cable and control signals
from the user pass back down the cable to control the spyfish.
The wireless controller lets the user guide spyfish with one hand
allowing the user to move freely and securely around the boat.
The on-screen interface visually balances a translucent, organic
feel against the functional ‘high-tech’ appearance of vehicle.
The depth and bearing indicators stretch across the screen to
break down their instrument-like quality and force them to
become part of the background environment.
Graphics appear on screen through the use of soft transitions.
Icons appear gently to inform but not interrupt the experience.
The pace of the transitions, together with ambient sounds, create
an undemanding and relaxed experience to help the user engage
with and appreciate the environment they are swimming in. |
